What You Will Learn With Renee

With over 30 years of working with girls and families in all different kinds of settings, Renee has found Four Pillars to working with anxiety. By addressing these Four Pillars, adolescent and young women can be equipped to manage their anxiety on a long-term basis.

Throughout therapy, Renee will teach girls the Four Pillars to Manage their Anxiety Long-term. They include:

Education – Helping girls understand what is going on in their bodies and brain. Educating clients on why they experience certain physical symptoms and why they respond the way they do can help them understand their symptoms and not be as afraid of them.

Awareness – Helping girls gain self-awareness of how their stress or anxiety shows up. Renee likes to think that everyone has their own flavor as to how their anxiety presents itself through certain behaviors, feelings, thoughts, actions, or inactions. When girls understand what their anxiety looks like, they can better understand and manage those behaviors, thoughts, and feelings.

Self-Compassion/Sense of Humor - Girls that are stressed or anxious tend to be very hard on themselves. Teaching them how to be kinder to themselves and gain a sense of humor around their anxiety is the most important pillar. Without self-compassion and a sense of humor, you are just a very aware and knowledgeable anxious person. Self-compassion allows you to try different strategies and more easily work through challenges.

Self-Care Strategies/Tools – Renee teaches girls coping skills and strategies tailored to them, giving them the tools they need to manage their stress while creating a self-care routine that shows them how to manage their stress and anxiety long-term.
